Diane
Fowler, CT, CI, NAD V, SC: L Diane Fowler, CT, CI, NAD V, SC: L, has interpreted
professionally as a certified interpreter since 1990. Starting out as a church interpreter in 1983, she received a
Quality Assurance state credential (QA II) in Alabama in 1985 and
initiated her career as a sign language interpreter in mainstreamed
schools, colleges, and community settings.
In 1993, Diane launched out into the world of private practice and
self-employment by establishing her own business, Eagle Interpreting
Services, Inc. As a private
practitioner, she provides sign language interpreting and consulting
services on local, state, regional and national levels.
In May 2002, Diane co-founded Conference of Legal Sign Language
Interpreters, Inc., (CLSLI) a non-profit 501 (c) 3 entity which promotes
excellence and distinction in the provision of sign language interpreting
services in legal and judicial settings through high caliber seminars and
collegial interchange. Diane
is the mother of two daughters and the grandmother of two girls and a boy.
She resides in Sugar Hill, Georgia. |

Marci LCH Smith, CT Marci graduated with her interpreting degree in 1992 from Georgia Perimeter College in Decatur, Georgia. During her tenure as a full time educational interpreter, Marci provided interpreting services in elementary, middle, high school and post secondary classrooms. For the next eight years Marci interpreted in community, legal and educational settings while continuing to hone her skills as an educational and legal interpreter. In 2000 Marci accepted a position at her Alma mater to develop and teach the transliteration curriculum in the Interpreter Training Program. She held that position until 2002 when she and her husband relocated to Tennessee where she began interpreting at the University of Tennessee. She worked as a full-time interpreter until 2003 when she and her husband welcomed with great joy the birth of their son, Joshua. Marci currently works as an interpreter in private practice and as a consultant providing interpreting seminars.
